Van Gogh Alive!
May 21, 2014
Registration Deadline: April 11, 2014

What we're doing...
Join us on Wednesday, May 21 for the Van Gogh Alive exhibit and the Van Gogh: Brush with Genius IMAX at Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC.

This exhibit explores the work and life experiences of Van Gogh from 1880 to 1890. We'll see his works in fine detail, allowing us to study color and technique. Photographs and video have been augmented with Van Gogh's works to demonstrate his sources of inspiration. It is synchronized to a powerful classical score, with more than 3,000 images displayed on giant screens, walls, columns, ceilings, and even the floor to immerse us in Van Gogh's art.

The registration deadline is April 11.

You must arrive by 9:30 am to get your wristbands, exhibit, and IMAX tickets or you'll forfeit your admission. Our IMAX time is 11:00 am, and our entry time for the exhibit is 1:00 pm. Before the movie, and after the exhibit, we're free to explore the museum at our leisure. (It's a great museum, so plan extra time to visit.)

(NOTE:
No drop-offs. Parents, or another adult, must attend this event with their children.)

Cost and what's included...
The cost for each participant is $17 per person for members (students and adults, children under 2 are free), and $19 per person for non-members. This includes admission to the museum and exhibit. Parking is an additional $8 per vehicle if you park in the museum's parking deck (payable when you exit the garage).

Lunch is not provided, so plan to eat at the museum's cafe (organic foods), bring your own food and drinks (I've reserved space in their lunch room), or there are plenty of restaurants within a block of the museum.

Cancellation policy and refunds...
To keep the cost of this field trip as low as I possibly can, there will be no refunds for cancellations, no-shows, or late arrivals. Families must meet me at 9:30 am to pick up wristbands. Your signed registration form and payment acknowledges that you understand and agree with my cancellation and refund policy.

Want to go?
Full payment is due within 7 days of the date I confirm your registration. (I'll send you a confirmation email with payment instructions.) If I don't receive your payment by the due date, you will be moved to my waiting list to fill any open spots that remain after my deadline. No reminder emails will be sent.

After you complete the registration form, you'll receive an automated notification that it posted correctly. This email does not confirm your spots at the event - it just confirms that your registration went through correctly. Please email me if you have any questions or don't receive your automated email within 30 minutes of registering.

(I use the same registration form for several events. Please make sure you choose the correct event on the form and complete all required fields.)

Important Notes
This field trip is confirmed. Registrations will be accepted through April 11.

Full payment is due within 7 days of my registration confirmation email. Please don't register until you can make full payment.

I accept checks and BillPay through your bank. I can't accept PayPal or credit cards (credit card checks are fine).

Please make sure you select the correct event on the registration form. (I use the same form for multiple field trips.)

You (or another adult) must attend this program with your children. No drop-offs.

Please plan to arrive by 9:30 am, and allow plenty of time for traffic. I will distribute wristbands and tickets to families at that time and won't be able to wait for stragglers.

Parking is an additional $8 per vehicle, payable at Discovery's parking garage.

Lunch isn't provided. Plan to eat at the museum's organic cafe, at a local restaurant, or bring a bag lunch and drinks.

Non-members and homeschoolers from other states are welcome to join us.

No refunds for cancellations, no shows, or late arrivals.
